Angelyn Scardino Treutel, CPA, attended high school at Our Lady Academy, graduating as Valedictorian.  Treutel graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Accountancy.   Prior to joining Treutel Insurance Agency in 1997, she served as Senior Financial Supervisor for Exxon Corporation in New Orleans where she managed the Financial Analysis & Reporting, Building Services, Production and Drilling Accounting departments.  She served as the Southeastern US Accounting Coordinator for Exxon’s Emergency Response Team and held a Senior Computer Specialist position.  Treutel started a business for tax preparation and small business accounting in 1990.

Treutel has served as President, Technology Chair and Education Chair of the Independent Insurance Agents of Mississippi (IIAM) and Chair of the Southern Agents Conference Technology Committee,   Treutel is a prolific public speaker on insurance and business issues including Real Time Technology, Social Networking, Internet Marketing, Workflow Efficiency, Disaster Preparedness, Customer Service, Finance and Insurance Sales.  She is a certified instructor for the ACSR program, ASCnet, AICPA and CPE programs. Locally, she is President for the Chamber of Commerce and served as Treasurer and Third Party Administrator of the Hancock Resource Center.  She was recognized as one of the Top 10 Leading Business Women of Mississippi, Top 40 Under 40 in Mississippi, received the American Association of Managing General Agents' "Association Achievement Award" ,  the national InVEST Dach Award, the Big I National Chairman's Citation for excellence, twice received the IIAM's President's Award for outstanding contributions to the Mississippi Insurance Association, and received a Volunteerism Award from the City of Bay St. Louis.  Treutel has authored numerous articles for national publications and has been featured in ACORD TV, Kiplinger's, Insurance Journal, National Underwriter, ASCNet Quarterly, and Independent Agent Magazine.  She is a registered IRS Tax Preparer.
